The Escape offers an optional remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system on the SE/SEL/Titanium will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Niro doesn't offer a remote starting system.
The Escape Titanium offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed readouts in front of the driver's line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Niro doesn't offer a heads-up display.
The Escape's power parking brake sets with one touch and releases with one touch or automatically. The Niro's parking brake has to released manually.
The Escape SEL/Titanium's front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The Niro EX/S Touring/Touring's rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to open or close them fully.
The Escape's standard speed-sensitive wipers speed up when the vehicle does, so that the driver doesn't have to continually adjust the speed of the wipers. The Niro's manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted. The Escape's standard wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically according to the amount of rainfall on the windshield.
While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the Escape detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Niro doesn't offer automatic dimming high beams.
Both the Escape and the Niro offer rear vents. For greater rear passenger comfort, the Escape SE/SEL/Titanium has standard rear air conditioning vents to keep rear occupants cool in summer or warm in winter. The Niro doesn't offer rear air conditioning vents, only heat vents.
The Escape Titanium's Active Park Assist 2.0 can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Niro doesn't offer an automated parking system.
