The Titan XD has standard driver and passenger side airbags combined with three-point seat belts, a combination which is 29% more effective in preventing injury and death than seatbelts alone.

To maximize occupant safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Nissan Titan XD have pretensioners to eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers.

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Nissan Titan XD are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up.

The Titan XD has shoulder harnesses for all passengers. Shoulder harnesses are 10% more effective than lap belts in preventing injuries from collisions. Recent studies indicate that lap belts alone may cause as many or more injuries than they prevent.

The Titan XD has standard child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Titan XD are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out.

The Titan XD's rear seat is safe for a rear facing infant safety seat and the Titan XD's passenger side airbag has a weight sensor switch to disable it.

The Nissan Titan XD has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision.

The Titan XD has standard front seat side-impact airbags and head airbags for both seat rows, which act as a forgiving barrier between the passengers and the door. Combined with high-strength steel door beams this system increases protection from broadside collisions.

Using vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors, smart airbags in the Titan XD deploy with different levels of force or don't deploy at all to help better protect passengers of all sizes in different collisions. Airbags without smart features will always deploy full force.

The Titan XD has standard four-wheel antilock disc brakes for quicker stops and controlled steering ability, especially under poor traction conditions.

The Titan XD has standard Automatic Emergency Braking, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn't react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Titan XD has standard Rear Automatic Braking that use rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically apply the brakes to prevent a collision.

The Titan XD has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow.

To prevent wheel-spin and loss of control under poor traction conditions, full range traction control is standard on the Nissan Titan XD.

The Titan XD has standard Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), which uses the antilock brake hardware along with powerful software and additional sensors to detect the beginning of a skid. VDC then intervenes by automatically applying the brake at one appropriate wheel, preventing a skid.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Titan XD PRO-4X's standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely.

The Nissan Titan XD PRO-4X/Platinum has Daytime Running Lights to help keep it more visible under all conditions. Canadian government studies show that driving with lights during the day reduces accidents by 11% by making vehicles more conspicuous.

The Titan XD's lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane.

The Titan XD has standard Front and Rear Sonar Systems to help warn drivers about vehicles, pedestrians or other obstacles behind or, optionally, in front of their vehicle. The Titan XD also has a standard backup monitor to help drivers see any and all obstacles behind their vehicle, and an optional (except SV) Around View® Monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle.

The Titan XD's blind spot warning system uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle's blind spots where the side view mirrors don't reveal them.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the Titan XD's standard Rear Cross Traffic Alert uses sensors in the rear to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions.

The Titan XD's driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year.

Compared to metal, the Titan XD's plastic fuel tank can withstand harder, more intrusive impacts without leaking; this decreases the possibility of fire.

The Titan XD's gas tank is mounted inside the frame rails in front of the rear axle to optimally protect the fuel tank in a collision. A gas tank mounted behind the rear axle is more susceptible to rear collisions.

The Titan XD offers optional NissanConnect Services, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it's stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. Without a GPS response system, if you're involved in an accident and you're incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

A hardened steel chain, with no maintenance needs, drives the camshafts in the Titan XD's engine. If a rubber cam drive belt that needs periodic replacement breaks, the engine could be severely damaged when the pistons hit the opened valves.

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the Titan XD has an overhead cam design, rather than an old pushrod design.

To reliably power the ignition and other systems and to recharge the battery, the Titan XD has a standard 200-amp alternator.

To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the Titan XD has a standard 710-amp battery.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Titan XD second among large light duty pickups in their 2023 Initial Quality Study.

J.D. Power and Associates' 2023 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Nissan vehicles are above average in initial quality. Nissan has 12 fewer problems per 100 vehicles than average.

For more complete vehicle control the Titan XD has a manually controlled automatic, with the available convenience of an automatic transmission and the complete gear control of a manual transmission without the inconvenience of a clutch. A manually controlled automatic allows the driver to eliminate unwanted shifts and maximize engine braking by down shifting while cornering.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Nissan Titan XD, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway.

For better traction, the Titan XD has large 245/75R17 standard tires. The Titan XD PRO-4X's tires are larger 275/65R18.

The Titan XD's standard tires provide better handling because they have a low 75 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall. The Titan XD's optional tires have a lower 60 series profile.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Titan XD has standard 17-inch wheels. The Titan XD offers optional 20-inch wheels.

The Nissan Titan XD's wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength.

The Titan XD has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn't interrupt your work or a trip. A temporary spare tire has mileage, speed and weight limitations. If a vehicle has no spare tire you are forced to repair the tire and if that fails you will have to call roadside assistance and get towed. Even run-flats can fail if they are sufficiently damaged.

The Nissan Titan XD's independent front suspension is much lighter than a solid front axle, which allows the Titan XD's wheels to react more quickly and accurately to the road's surface, improving both ride and handling.

The Titan XD has standard front and rear stabilizer bars, which help keep the Titan XD flat and controlled during cornering.

The front suspension of the Titan XD uses coil springs for better ride, handling and control than leaf springs. Coil springs compress more progressively and offer more suspension travel for a smoother ride with less bottoming out.

The Titan XD has standard power steering to make quick and controllable low speed maneuvers easy.

The Titan XD has vehicle speed sensitive variable-assist power steering, for low-effort parking, better control at highway speeds and during hard cornering, and a better feel of the road.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Titan XD's wheelbase is 151.6 inches.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Titan XD is 68.4 to 68.6 inches wide.

The Titan XD's front to rear weight distribution is an even 56.3% to 43.7%. This gives the Titan XD more stable handling and braking.

The Titan XD Platinum handles at .70 G's of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Titan XD Platinum executes Motor Trend's “Figure Eight” maneuver in only 29.9 seconds at .53 average G's

For better maneuverability, the Titan XD's turning circle is 53.8 feet.

The Nissan Titan XD may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs only 6384 to 6837 pounds.

The Titan XD is only 243.4 to 244.4 inches long, making the Titan XD easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Titan XD is only 79.5 to 80.7 inches wide, making the Titan XD easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

The Titan XD is only 78 inches in height, making the Titan XD much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

To almost totally eliminate engine vibration in the passenger area, the Titan XD has an electronically controlled liquid-filled main engine mount. A computer-controlled electric current in the liquid changes its viscosity, allowing the mount to dampen the engine completely at all RPMs.

For excellent aerodynamics, the Titan XD SV has standard flush composite headlights.

The Titan XD has a large 59.6 cubic feet of cargo box.

The Titan XD's cargo box is large in every dimension:

Titan XD

Length (short/long)

78.7”

Max Width

63.8”

Min Width

50”

Height

20.8”

A standard locking glovebox (which can't be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the Titan XD.

To prevent tailgate loss and help secure heavier cargo from theft, the Titan XD has a standard tailgate lock cylinder.

The Nissan Titan XD has a standard tailgate assist feature, which prevents the heavy tailgate from falling with a crash and causing injury. It allows adults and children to easily open and close the tailgate with one hand to better facilitate loading and unloading.

The Nissan Titan XD PRO-4X/Platinum Reserve/SV Regular Cab offers an optional rear cargo step, which allows for much easier access to the cargo area.

The Titan XD has bed indentations that accommodate 2x4's for two-tiered loading to help accommodate diverse loads. The Titan XD also has indentations to separate the cargo box into three different sections length-wise.

The Titan XD has stake post holes, to allow the containment of tall, light loads.

The Nissan Titan XD's tailgate uses caliper type latches (like those used for car doors) for smooth, tight closing. The slam bolts on some tailgate aren't as tight as caliper latches, and they require closing the tailgate with more force, which can eventually damage it.

The Titan XD uses gas struts to support the hood for easier service access. A prop rod supporting a heavy hood takes two hands to open the hood and set, it gets in the way during maintenance and service, and the prop rod could be knocked out, causing the heavy hood to fall on the person maintaining or servicing the car.

The engine in the Titan XD is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because the accessory belts are in front.

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the Titan XD (except S) to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for oil changes, spark plug replacement, air filter replacement, tire rotation, radiator flush, brake pad replacement, brake fluid replacement, and transmission fluid replacement, based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer.

The Titan XD's entire steering wheel hub sounds the horn, facilitating hitting the horn in an emergency.

The Titan XD (except SV) offers a remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior.

The engine computer on the Titan XD automatically engages the starter until the car starts with one twist of the key and disables the starter while the engine is running. Without this feature the starter can be accidentally engaged while the engine is running, making a grinding noise and possibly damaging the starter and ring gear.

The Titan XD's standard tilting steering column adjusts to different sized drivers and makes entering and exiting easier.

To help each driver find a more comfortable driving position, the Titan XD offers a telescoping steering wheel. Much better than just a tilt steering wheel or adjustable seat, this allows a short driver to sit further from the steering wheel while maintaining contact with the pedals.

When two different drivers share the Titan XD (except SV), the optional memory system makes it convenient for both. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver's seat position, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle.

The Titan XD (except SV)'s optional easy entry system raises the steering wheel and glides the driver's seat back when the door is unlocked or the ignition is switched off, making it easier for the driver to get in and out.

The Titan XD's instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights' don't warn you until damage has been done.

The Titan XD's foot pedal parking brake releases with one motion.

The Titan XD's standard power windows allow the driver or passenger to lower and raise the windows without leaning over or being distracted.

The Titan XD's standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them.

The Titan XD's front power windows open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car.

The Titan XD's standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access.

If the front windows are left open on the Titan XD the driver can close them at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote.

The Titan XD's standard power locks allow the driver or passenger to lock or unlock all the doors at a touch without leaning over, or reaching to the back seat.

The Titan XD's power locks have a lockout prevention feature. When the key is in the ignition or smart key is in the passenger compartment and the driver's door is open, the locks unlock every time you lock them.

The Titan XD's standard doors lock when a certain speed is reached. This is an important feature for occupant safety. Locked doors are proven to open less often in collisions, and they are also effective in preventing crime at traffic lights.

The Intelligent Key optional on the Titan XD allows you to unlock the driver's door and start the engine all without removing a key from pocket or purse. This eliminates searching for keys before getting in the vehicle in bad weather or making a hurried start to your trip.

The Titan XD's power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night.

The Titan XD's standard speed-sensitive wipers speed up when the vehicle does, so that the driver doesn't have to continually adjust the speed of the wipers. The Titan XD's optional wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically according to the amount of rainfall on the windshield.

The Titan XD PRO-4X/Platinum's LED headlights produce a whiter, brighter light (up to 3x) using five times less power than halogen headlights. LED lights also light instantly and last over twenty times longer than halogen.

The Titan XD has a standard automatic headlight on/off feature. When the ignition is on, the headlights automatically turn on at dusk and off after dawn.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the Titan XD detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams.

The Titan XD's standard side window demisters help clear frost or condensation from the side windows in the winter. Without side window demisters the driver may have to wipe the windows from the outside to gain side vision.

To shield the driver and front passenger's vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Titan XD has standard extendable sun visors.

The Titan XD's sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows.

The Titan XD has standard power remote mirrors. Without a remote driver side or passenger side mirror the driver will have to roll down the windows and reach across the car to adjust the mirrors.

The Titan XD's standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility.

The Titan XD's power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access.

When the Titan XD with available tilt-down mirrors is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions.

The Titan XD's optional rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver.

The Titan XD offers optional heated front and rear seats (rear heaters not available on SV) extremely comfortable in the winter.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the Titan XD (except SV) keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer.

On extremely cold winter days, the Titan XD's optional (except S/SV) heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the vehicle heater warms up.

The Titan XD has a standard center folding armrest for the driver and front passenger. A center armrest helps combat driver fatigue.

The Titan XD has a standard center folding armrest for the rear passengers. A center armrest helps make rear passengers more comfortable and it can provide a boundary between children.

The Titan XD's optional dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won't have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible.

The Titan XD's optional automatic temperature control maintains the temperature you set, automatically controlling fan speed, vents and temperature to maintain a consistent, comfortable environment.

For greater rear passenger comfort, the Titan XD offers optional rear a/c vents to keep rear occupants more comfortable.

A built-in pollen filter removes pollen, exhaust fumes and other pollutants from the Titan XD's passenger compartment. This helps prevent lung and/or sinus irritation which can trigger allergies or asthma.

To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Titan XD has a standard Intelligent Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic.

To help keep the driver's hands on the wheel, the Titan XD has standard steering wheel controls for the radio.

Standard NissanConnect for the Titan XD allows the driver and passengers access to select programs on their smartphones, including reading text messages aloud, playing internet radio stations and other connected activities without taking their eyes off the road or their hands from the wheel.

To direct the driver from any location to a given street address, a GPS navigation system is standard on the Titan XD PRO-4X/Platinum. The Titan XD's navigation system also has a real-time traffic update feature that offers alternative routes to automatically bypass traffic problems. (Service not available in all areas.)

With optional Nissan Voice Recognition, the Titan XD offers the driver hands free control of the radio and the navigation computer by simply speaking.

The Titan XD's standard stainless spring steel antenna stays in place and resists damage.

Bluetooth wireless connectivity is standard on the Titan XD, connecting the driver and passenger's cell phones to the vehicle systems. This allows them to use the vehicle's stereo and hand controls to place calls safely and easily.

The Titan XD offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet in the cargo area, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced.
